Ruhama’s Books in the Sand is welcoming the artist Flick Ford’s new book, BIG: The 50 Greatest World Record Catches. Flick Ford and International Game Fish Association (IGFA) historian Mike Rivkin have come together to tell the stories of the fifty most amazing record fish catches from around the world, selected for their sheer size, popularity, beauty, and classic record story.
Along with is still offering smaller portions at a lower price in the Caribbean Room the Temptation has started something new. They are offering mid week price saver specials, including such things as baby back ribs, yankee pot roast, and blackened meatloaf. All at reasonable prices during the week for anyone who wants to enjoy lunch on the island at a reasonable price.
Melissa Joiner Steyer has started a new business on the island. Isabella’s Balloon Barn made with a little bit of baby love, is located at Whidden’s Marina. The Eagle Grille and Miller’s Dockside located at 220 Harbor Drive at the Boca Grande Marina are now featuring a happy hour Tuesday though Friday 4 to 6 p.m. with dockside drink specials. With new management at the waterfront restaurant a few changes are coming. Along with the happy hour there will also be live music on the dock a couple nights a week and daily specials.
Remember your favorite “world’s greatest tarpon fishing” tee-shirt that you got at the old Millers Marina back in the day? Well, they’re back and Gasparilla Outfitters has them! Ruhama’s Books in the Sand has Lemon Bay Cook Books available. The cook books are put together by the Lemon Bay Parents Association and all the proceeds go back to the Parents Association to help the school. Brendan is the same artist who designed and painted the Ladies Day poster for this year’s tournament.
